I have found one book that isn’t a children’s book. How can I know what kind of person you are if I can’t see your books?! I’m hoping there’s a room full of them that I haven’t been in.

One of my good friends from Uni managed to not only graduate, but graduated with an excellent grade despite having finished reading one book throughout the entire course, and he only finished reading said book because he was frightened of the professor. I don’t know how he did it (or why he chose an English degree when he has such a hatred for books), but I’ve been trying to get him to read for pleasure for years. Today, during one of my sessions which always begin “I really think you’d enjoy this book…” he expressed a desire to read One Day by David Nicholls. Naturally, I sent him off with my copy. If he finishes reading and enjoys this book, he doesn’t know what’s coming, because I’ll basically be buying him all of the books. Every single one.
I finally feel like I’ve achieved something!
Sign of a good book: when you are forced to look up from the novel that you are reading and it takes you a few seconds to actually leave the world of the book. The Games have just begun.
A photograph I took in a Russian Doll shop in Prague. I don’t remember how it started, but whenever my sisters visit a foreign country they endeavour to bring me back a Russian Doll. Imagine my joy when I found a beautiful shop dedicated to selling just these dolls.
Greetings from Prague! It’s a cold and rainy day, but the city is still beautiful. I’m excited to see it in the more pleasant weather we are expecting tomorrow.
I’m going to Prague tomorrow until Tuesday and am only taking hand luggage. For a split second I considered sacrificing the book I packed to make everything fit. Then I removed an item of clothing instead. No regrets.
Having bedside books instead of a bedside table is amazing, until you need a book that is at the bottom. The pile on the left has already fallen on me today! I think I need construction advice next time I try to remove a book.
Came home from work to find that my dad has been busy building wall to wall bookcases in the study. Now to put up all the shelves and fill them up!
It’s snowing outside, for the first time this winter and luckily enough it’s my day off from work so I don’t have to venture out in it. I did have some things to do, and it isn’t settling so I could still do them, but I’m using the snow as my excuse to get back into bed and finish reading this book.
