Currently reading. This has been my week(end) with Marilyn as, alongside reading this book (which is The Prince, the Showgirl and Me and My Week with Marilyn in one volume), the long Easter weekend has given me enough time to finally watch Smash, which is incredible.

I’m not usually a fan of movie book covers but this version was the only one in print, so I had little choice. I thought the cover was decent as movie covers go, anyway.

And it’s onto the next one. Lucky I bought all three!

Currently reading. Better late than never, right?

Inspired by the new Titanic programme that will soon be shown on ITV, I’ve been reading Beryl Bainbridge’s Every Man For Himself. I like it, but I’ve read such wonderful books already this year that it’s probably my least favourite of the year so far. I’m interested to see how she approaches the sinking scenes as so far there is no urgency to her writing at all. This is going to either turn out to be her writing style, or the lack of urgency so far will be to to contrast later on. I’ll probably finish it tonight so not long until I find out!

Currently reading. I had to work late today. My boss sprang it on me at lunchtime and I couldn’t really say no. All I wanted to do was go home and curl up with this book.

Currently reading. I was reading it on my sister’s kindle over Christmas but she needed it back to access some textbooks so I had to request it from the library. The physical book is stunning though, the cover is really beautifully designed.

Currently reading in the break room at work. Ava has been telling me to read this for years, and I’ve finally started it. It’s amazing, I don’t want to put it down. Do you think they’ll notice if I don’t return from lunch?

I woke up at 6am to accompany my mum to an appointment at the hospital. It’s now 9.30 and she’ll be in the scanning machine thing for a while yet, so I’ve taken my book and ipod to Regent’s Park to read in the sunshine of what already promises to be a beautiful day.
